September 5, 2007

Nick's cousin, Kyra, arrived on her due date and is beautiful. We were on the road to KS hoping to be at the hospital when she was born but Kyra couldn't wait any longer. We were almost half way there when we got the call saying Baby Baldwin is here! I have to say that my sister is AMAZING! She started having contractions around 6pm Tuesday night and delivered at 4pm on Wednesday without an epidural!! I don't think she had intended to do that but her labor went really fast once she got to the hospital. We had a great visit and can't wait to see everyone again.

Nick is such a sweetheart! He was very gentle with Kyra. He's going to be a great cousin! I don't think he minded that I was holding a baby as long as he could help.

Just like Daddy....

Already on 2 wheels! We thought Nick would like this little motorcycle since he's always saying "Vroom, Vroom" and twisting his wrist when he see's Daddy's. He pushes along pretty good with his feet. Lucky for me, this motorcycle is not motorized. Shew.

Van's

Nick likes his shoes! He's proudly wearing some Van's that he got for his birthday from Celia, James & Morgan. Can you tell its summertime? Who needs shorts?

Fun with Granny & Papa

Granny & Papa came for a visit a couple of weeks ago and brought Nick a cool Chiefs hat. I think he likes it!

Where's Nicholas?

Hmm... Where is our little guy? There he is!!
Nick is getting so good at climbing. He got up on the couch by himself and then thought it was fun to hide under the pillows. Last week he climbed up into his high chair by himself and onto the dining room chairs. Can't believe how strong he is!

Like my hat?

That would be a bib on Nick's head. He thought it could serve more than one purpose.
Yep, those are swimming trunks on his head. Silly boy!! He tried telling me that it was a hat.
I love his big smiles!!
We went for his 18 month checkup on 8/1. He is 33" tall (75-90 percentile) and weights 25 # 5oz. (50th percentile).

Go Cart Time

We went to a birthday party last weekend where Nick got to play on a go cart made especially for toddlers. He had so much fun that we decided to buy him one. Nick reminded me of when I learned to drive a standard, lots of sudden starts and stops. He's getting better about holding the button down for longer periods of time so he goes farther each time. Now he just needs to learn how to turn the steering wheel.
Nick has been soaking his shirts with drool. His first molars have come through on both sides (upper). We were wondering when more of his teeth were going to come in. It had been several months since the last one. He has 9 teeth now.
