Nick's 2nd Christmas

Nick got the hang of opening presents very quickly. He made sure he pulled every piece of paper off the box too.
Nick got lots of great stuff to play with! He has some new books, clothes and puzzles. Granny & Papa gave him a tricycle & proper safety gear (helmet, elbow and knee pads). We thought he would enjoy a little kitchen since he helps me while I'm cooking. Granny found a cute little puppy dog apron for him and Aunt Coco gave him some play food that he can practice cutting on.

There he goes on his trike! Papa pushed him around on it so he could get used to the pedals. Nick figured out how to get on and off of it very quickly. He's still working on the pedaling part.

The kitchen is a hit!
Ok, guys! See what happens when the women leave the room. Nick had his apron on as well as his helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. Safety first, right?

We feel very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. We hope you had a merry Christmas and wish you the best in 2008!

Here we GROW Again!!

Well, Tom, Nick and I went to the Dr. today for my 8 week appointment and everything looks good! Nick did so great while we waited to be seen (at the office 2-1/2 hours). I was impressed with that because he hadn't taken a nap yet. He fell asleep in the car on the way home. Our 2nd lil' baby is due to arrive around July 31st. I have not been sick yet and hope that continues. Tom thinks we are having another boy and I don't care either way. We'll find out in a few months so stay tuned.

Thanksgiving in Kansas

We had a great Thanksgiving in Kansas. Nick was an excellent traveler. Thank goodness for the portable dvd player and his Curious George movie. We saw snow the day after Thanksgiving.

Here's Nick with his cousin, Kyra. He is so loving with her. He's such a sweetheart! Kyra is a little angel too.
Uh, Mom what's she saying?

2007 Christmas portraits

Laura and Grant did an excellent job taking Nick's picture. I used to work with them at The Color Place and am glad we are still in touch with eachother.

Quick trip to the Botanic Garden

We went to the Botanic Garden for a little while late one afternoon. It was so nice outside! We hadn't been there since Nick was 2 months old. He had a lot of fun looking at the different water features and smelling the flowers.
Nick helped me decorate the Christmas tree. He's going to have fun this year!

1st trip to the zoo

Nov. 4, 2007

Loaded up and ready to go! We had to put a short sleeved shirt on when we got to the zoo since it was so warm out. We couldn't have asked for better animal watching weather! It wasn't crowded either.

Nick really liked seeing all the different monkeys. Luckily they were on their best behavior.

I had fun feeding the birds! Nick kept pointing to the ground and seemed concerned that the birds food kept falling off the stick. Nick wasn't too sure about the carousel at first but once he figured out what was going on he had a great time.

Happy Halloween!

Nick and I went to see Daddy at work on Halloween. Nick looked so cute in his costume! He got a lot of practice saying trick or treat (tick-a-ticka). Its amazing how fast he picked up on that. I guess seeing candy put in your pail is a great motivator.

Nick carried his pail the entire time we were at Corning and when we walked around to see our neighbors. He really liked looking at everyone's decorations. Nick helped Daddy hand out candy to all the trick'r' treaters too. He seemed to like all the different characters except a couple; one was a skeleton and the other was Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars.

2006

Gotta love football season!

Oh boy! When Nick woke up from his nap on Saturday afternoon I took him into the living room where Tom was watching the Michigan game. Nick started smiling immediately. I think he was happy to see Daddy ofcourse and football on tv. It was so cute. You've gotta have proper snacks while watching college football.... Yum, goldfish crackers hit the spot!

Lil' Carpet Cleaner

Nick is always wanting to help me around the house. I was cleaning a spot on the carpet and he wanted to do the same thing. I let him hold the spray bottle and bristle brush. I went to the kitchen to get a quick snack for him. When I came back a minute later, he had grabbed the Capture container off the table and sprinkled the stuff on the carpet just like Mommy does. Can't turn your back for a second , can you?

"How can you say no to a face like this?" That is a great question!

Sept. 30 - Oct. 2, 2007

We flew to Las Vegas with a bunch of our friends to celebrate Scott's 40th birthday. We also were able to spend time with Grandma Jan while we were there. This was Nick's first time on a plane. He enjoyed watching everyone at the airport and was so tired he fell asleep during take-off. He slept for half of the flight going to Vegas and slept the entire way back to TX.

We went to Pahrump to see Grandma's house and say hello to Uncle Fred, Aunt Brandie, Aunt Amy and cousins Trey, Tasia, Zack & Ryan. It was so good to see everyone!
We found a kids play area at the airport. Nick & Morgan had a lot of fun running around. Here they are taking a break.
And back to running around...

Time to rest again...

And they're off!

Nick was a great traveler! We were so relieved.
