Our new house

Let me just start by saying how EXCITED we are to be moving back to Fort Worth!  We feel blessed that a position opened up for Tom there and that he was the best candidate.  We found a house that had only been on the market 2 days when we wrote an offer on it.  Its perfect for us and we can't wait to move in June.
Here's what our new home looks like.  The ivy is going to be removed and we need to stain the garage door.  We'll definitely take some before and after pics.

This is the study/guest room.
This will be our formal dining room.

Family room

Here are the boys making themselves at home while the inspector was checking everything out.  Hope the current owner doesn't mind.  : )

Owen is going through a phase where he feels the need to take his shirt off.  Its been going on for a couple of weeks now.  I love it when we are half way down the school hallway and he feels the need to be shirtless!

Here's a pic of the oversized garage.  It's not a 3 car but has a 4' extension which is fabulous!  Tom was sold after he saw it.

Kitchen

The backyard is a little smaller than what we are used to but the elementary school that Nick will be going to is right behind us.  The soccer field backs up to the fence.

Gameroom:  can't live without it!  : )
Ah, this will be my scrapbooking space.  I am so excited!!!
We didn't start off with a media room on our list of must haves but the idea of having one grew on us.  Looking forward to many movie nights in here!

April 2011

We were in Fort Worth for a week to find a new home.  We found a great house on our 2nd day there and took the boys out for some fun before we had to leave town.  We went to the Childrens Museum of Science & History, Zoo and saw Hop at the movies.
Owen climbing in to get some groceries out.  He is so INDEPENDENT!  We just watched and laughed.

Nick pretended to work at the grocery store.

All of a sudden Owen says "Look Mom, Big Balls!"  We are big fans of Wipeout and if you've seen the show you are familiar with the Big Ball obstacle.  I cracked up!  I couldn't resist letting him try to get across them even when a lady told him that we shouldn't put our feet on them because people sit on them.  Yeah, I was that Mom for a few minutes and let him walk across them again after she walked away and I took pictures.

Nick, our little architect

We stopped by and watched the gorillas several times while we were at the zoo.
Here's O feeding the birds.

The zoo had a different dinosaurs native to TX on display.  They moved and made sounds.  Owen was a little confused when I told him they weren't real but the other animals were.  Nick didn't get to see this one because he got sweaty and wanted to leave.  Owen and I weren't finished yet so Tom & Nick waited for us in the car.

Brotherly love

I love it when they are sweet to eachother!

Superbowl 2011

Nick decided he was going to cheer for Green Bay in the Superbowl.  So, Tom found a jersey for our lil' guys.

High Five!

Nick's 5th Birthday at school & home

We decided to have a birthday celebration for Nick at his preschool.  We brought Chik Fil A nuggets & fruit for everyone, as well as cupcakes with Spiderman rings.  Here's Nick's table:
Owen got to sit by Nick and eat lunch.

The kids are pretending to be birthday candles and Nick went around to each one and blew out their flame.  : )  He also received a high five, thumbs up or hug from his friends.

At home, Sunday morning.
Granny, Papa and the four of us were going to goto Chuck E's but Nick decided Saturday night that he wanted to stay home instead and have a wii party.
Close your eyes....
Awesome!  Owen and Nick were given new scooters!

Yummmmm, birthday cupcakes!  The frosting is the best part.

January 2011

Don't mess with me.  I am Superman.

There are those muscles again.
And, that silly face : )

Here is our new puppy, Paisley.  We adopted her from a local shelter a couple of days after we got home from xmas vacation.  She is 3 months old.  We named her after Brad Paisley because we heard one of his songs after we saw her for the first time.  "If he's anything like me" was the song.  We took Jack back the next day to meet her and make sure they would get along.  It had been a year since Pete died and after seeing Owen having so much fun with Baby and Bailey we thought we were ready to get another small dog.

We have found her sleeping like this on more than one occasion.  She is quickly earning the nickname "Crazy Pazy".  She keeps Jack on his toes.  I think he's glad to have her around most of the time.
Nick and I thought Paisley needed an outfit to match her cute blue and pink polka dot collar.  So, here she is modeling it.

Christmas 2010

  Mmmm, candy canes!
Papa loved his Griswold tshirt!  He thought it was pretty funny.  You know the line from Christmas Vacation where Clark asks if anyone is still looking for any last minute gifts for him...

Nick is into super heroes at the moment.
And if big brother likes super heroes, so does lil brother.  Here's O showing his muscles and his new pjs!

Owen helping Papa Hawk give Baby some love.  He had a great time playing with their puppy and with  Bailey at Great Grandpa & Great Grandma's house.
