Jeep Rides

Nick wanted to take Kyra for a jeep ride. So, here they are getting buckled in by Papa and Uncle Josh. I think Nick is explaining how the radio works in this pic. Here we go! "What's up with this?"
Takin' a break
Oops! Looks like a tire needs to be repaired.

Stories & snacks at bedtime.

Owen's 1 year portraits

Hee hee!!!!

Can't believe our little O is 1!

Such handsome boys!

Owen started off with lots of smiles but then needed a little help. Tickling did the trick this time.

What a bunch of cutie pies!
: )

It really is amazing that we are all smiling and looking in the same direction! Shew. Getting family pictures taken is exhausting!

Yum. This looks tasty....

Owen ended up with frosting from his head to his toes. Nick got in on the cake action too. What a great way to end a photo shoot!

Monster Truck Show

I just happened to click on Yahoo's local events link Thursday afternoon and saw that there was a Monster Truck show at the Texas Motor Speedway. I knew Nick would love to goto that! Nick has become a Hot Wheels Monster Truck collector since receiving his 1st one from Jacque while we were in the hospital after Owen was born. He also enjoys watching videos of the Monster Trucks online with Tom. So, he was very excited to get the chance to see the real thing in person!

The drivers for El Matador and Dream Catcher autographed Nick's hat. Tom said he wasn't quite sure why they wanted to sign his hat.

: )

Nick and Tom in the stands.

Nick and Tom paid a small fee to ride on Burnin' Up the monster fire truck and I hear it was worth every penny.

Here's Wild Thang. King Crunch, Monkey 'n Around, Dream Catcher, El Matador and a few others were there also.

Hmm. Future Monster Truck Driver?

Nick got to sit in a scaled down truck named Pond Scum.

July 2009

Old enough to walk, old enough to drive! Right? Owen loves to ride in his brothers Power Wheels Jeep so I thought it might be time to get the go cart out again. It didn't take Owen long to figure out how to climb in. He's still working on pushing the button to make it go and that is fine with me.
More climbing pictures. This time Nick thought it would be great to take all of the cushions off.

What cute boys!

Nick finished swim lessons last month. It was a parent & child class so Tom and I both got the participate with him. He is quite the water bug now in our pool. He wears his life jacket and kicks all around the pool. Owen loves bath time but isn't too sure about the pool. He'll probably love it next year.

Owen has 4 teeth now and 2 more are trying to come through. He gives juicy kisses and has discovered he has hair. Tom taught him how to give high fives - so cute! Owen likes to smile and shake his head no when he's next to the tv or fireplace. He knows he's not supposed to mess with them but wants to see if we'll change our mind.

Into Everything!

"Owen is into everything" is a common phrase around our house these days! He took his first steps on June 12 and is really into everything now. Owen likes to see how much dirt he can get out of my houseplants - thankfully it hasn't been too much. He likes to touch the tv screen and mess with the fireplace.
Nick used to play with things in the cabinets but he never climbed on in.

Where's Owen?

Owen is such a big helper.
Monkey see, Monkey do happens alot around here too.

Let the climbing begin!

He has mastered the climbing onto the couch when the cushions are off and he has climbed up stairs at our neighbors house as well as the step stool in his bathroom. Owen is walking further now, about 10ft. at a time.

Look who's using the doggie door!

Well, Owen has discovered the real purpose for the doggie door.

Testing it out.

Seeing what will fit through it.And, there he goes!

June 2009

Here is Nick doing an impression of Bugsy the guinea pig from the movie Bedtime Stories.
Hee Hee! I had to take a picture of this! The cucumber has a happy face!!

Our cool dude. He still wears his sunglasses whenever he's outside. We've forgotten them at home before and he's worn my sunglasses.
Nick is potty trained now! We are all so excited about his huge accomplishment. I think I'll start earlier with Owen because it sure is nice not having to mess with diapers.

We went to the zoo with our neighbors. I love the stagecoach picture. I'm sure that's how I would look riding in one during the Texas summer.
